Dr. Ellen Kuhnert is a proven senior Healthcare Executive with vast experience in hospital operations and strategic workforce planning, management, and utilization.

Dr. Kuhnert graduated with her BSN from Mount Saint Mary’s University in 1994. After working at the bedside for many years at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Dr. Kuhnert moved into a nurse manager role and obtained her MBA in 2002. She went on to serve in several key nurse leader roles including Vice President at U.S. Nursing Corporation in 2013. Dr. Kuhnert then completed her Doctorate in Nursing Practice-Executive Leadership at the University of San Francisco in May 2018, and was awarded the Dean’s Medal of Honor for Promoting Professionalism in Nursing. The area of focus for her Doctoral work was workforce planning/management/strategy and transformation.

Dr. Kuhnert then served in the role Chief Nursing Officer for Orange County Global Medical Center, a 282-bed trauma/burn/cardiac and neuro receiving center in Santa Ana, CA, Ellen is also the Past President of the Association of California Nurse Leaders, OC/Long Beach Chapter, and is a co-founder of Litehouse Health.

Dr. Kuhnert enjoys training and enrichment activities such as, agility, tricks and scent do work with her 5-year-old Golden Retriever, Fletcher in her free time.
